Jet Ski people.
I'm looking into getting a couple skis and was just wondering what boats to look for and if I were to buy used what to watch for when doing so.
Im not too sure if I want to get a forced induction one because im the type of person that would get one and before it even hit the water go to home depot and make a boost controller for it.
Thanks in advance.

If your buying used, looke out for two-strokes.. im not sure of the law here, but they are banned in alot of states, plus you never know who'm screwed with it in the past. 2-strokes are fun if you know what your doing, otherwise stay away from em..
I dont think the supercharged SeaDoos can be messed with as far as boost. i think the blower is gear driven.

Dont but Ski Doos, the new 4-strokes are dependable but pricey.
Large displacement 2 strokes that are a few years old are what i would look for, no more than 2-3 yrs old, and low hours. Run a compression test, and look at the Kawis and Yamahas (for 2 strokers)

Bought and sold within 12 months. Not a "waste" of money, because I didn't lose any, but it deffinitly could of been spent wiser.

We have a pair of those R12X(?) turbo Hondas with the optional kart-style seats, where you can sit down and drive them. They're utterly pointless because you have no balance when you sit down, but anyway, they absolutely FLY on the lake. For those that say 80mph is too fast when you wipeout... wiping out at 80mph isn't much worse than wiping out at 30mph; it still feels like concrete, you just bounce a couple more times.
It's fun outrunning the bass boats, ski and jet boats, even some of the Bajas, on a jetski.

Dont buy a damn 4 stroke...4 Stroke = Pile of crap..worked at a shop building them for a few years and 2 stroke will have less problems then a 4 stroke..I have 2 skie's myself..both are 98's and one is stock and the other is bored and stroked out..the stock one i have never had one problem with besides changing plugs ever once in a while in it...you will get your money's worth out of a 2 stroke
