Default SLP Header corrosion?

I'm not sure if I'm seeing things or if this is common. I pulled the sleeping beauty out of bed because we actually had a clean, dry day here in MI and I popped the hood to check everything out. It looks like my SLP headers are either rusting, pitting, corroding or something. There is definately rust-colored spots and some black spots as well. Has anyone else seen this? Is it normal? Thanks guys.

pop em off, send em in. They have a warranted. Since theyre SLP headers have fun taking em out and putting new ones in.

Stain-less steel...not stain-proof steel...it's normal for the grade of stainless to have some spots of corrosion, coatings aren't perfect either. I wouldn't give it a second thought.

...what Dave said. "Stainless Steel" is kind of a misnomer, although it is more immune to oxidation. Would you believe there is a microbe that "eats" SS?

Mine look just like the ones Country Boy posted. The only thing is that mine are pitting up top rather than the bottom. I guess it's just a bummer because it looked 10X better than the rusty old manifolds until now.

Id raise some serious hell over that, its no way that I would spend that much on a set of headers for em to turn out like that <img border="0" alt="[barf]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_barf.gif" />
