I can't talk about the KD's but I have the BFG G-Force KDW's in 275/40zr17 and they are the best tires I've bought so far. They offer better dry traction than my old Firestone SZ50's and comparable wet traction. My car put down 411rwtq (M6, 3.73's) and they won't spin at all even if I floor it in 1st gear (the SZ50's were spinning all the way through 1st gear). They also offer excellent cornering. And they are cheaper than the KD's you're looking for.
The only drawback I found is that they are much more noisier than any other tire I've tried (perfect complement to the singing 12-bolts ).
When you said that you have "zr1 rims", are they 17x9 ZR1-style SS wheels or the 17x11 from the ZR1? I ask because, if I remember, KDW's are not offered for 17x11 wheels.
I've heard that the KD's offer even better dry traction than the KDW's but that they are poorer in wet traction. They will also have a shorter lifespan.
