How does stainless steal deal with heat vs. coated headers?
Should I have stainless steel headers coated to help deal with heat? Or leave them alone?
Does the stainless need coating to protect from heat like the cheaper steel does?

Several posts on this...do a search. Note that stainless does run hotter, but this is better for exhaust scaveging. My suggestions are just have a fresh air intake of some brand. In the past I wanted to coat my stainless...soon I'll post if there are any heat issues. I dont expect any.

There are dozens of different types of stainless steels. T-409 is used in the SLP headers and is a low grade steel, T-304 and 321 are much higher grade and generally do not need to be coated for corrosion resistance.

Type in just "stainless" and search each thread. I hate to send ya on a goose chase but you'll never get all the good info and opinions on this thread...as compared to previous in depth discussions. In fact, if you just search Fenris's posts you will come up with se <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> veral.
