SMOKE!!!!!! Please help
Ok guys I have a slight problem. My 402 has now about 6000 miles on it and it has smoked from day one. It is a SLP high compression, I have had 3 sets of heads thinking it was valve guides, but that didi not help. No I had an issue with the first set of heads, they were cracked and leaked coolant really bad on one bank. Due you think that could of caused me any problems with rings sealing? I really I'm tired of the smoke and it uses about a qt of oil every week and a half please help?

While I can't tell right off the bat, the SLP has had some issues from day one.
Washing coolant on one bannk can add to that.
Do a leakdown/compression tests to give you a clearer picture.
If those come out fine then look at PCV/cranckase ventilation issues.

Okay i fixed my smoking problem completly today. I had asked around and with most ported and polished heads the bolt for the rocker arms goes straigt through to the intake valve. You need to put some threar sealer on the bolts. I used the teflon tape but in liquid form. Good luck, let me know.
