Default engine install question(basic)

ive been searching for awhile now, and havent been able to answer my querry. if i wanted to put in a ls2 6.0l or a ls1 408 or anything besides the 98 ls1 346 engine my 98 camaro came with, what else has to be done engine/comp/fuel wise. or is it a straight drop in, start it and go? anyone have a good write up???

Pretty much a straight drop in. The cam position sensor is on the front of the LS2 block and rear of the ls21 block, so you have to extend the wiring harness. But that is about it. It just drops right in.

Go to Barnes and Noble and find a book by Will Handzel called How to build High Performance LS1/LS6. There is an entire chapter dedicated to engine removal and installation.
