Comp XER lobes and Crane Z Cam lobes
Are these the same design in lobe action or is one faster than the other? Or what is the advantage or disadvantage of them? I found a cam I want to use for my 402 at SDPC but it is a Crane Z Cam. I would rather use a Comp cam with the XER lobes. Thanks

You can figure out the ramp rate useing the formula out of the cam guide.
Witch would be best for you i guess have to see the specs on the cam?
- If you know the advertised duration (.006) of a cam you can calculate the ramp rate. To do this you take the duration @.006 and subtract it from the duration @ .050. A number of 53 or higher denotes an XE lobe or other mild lobe and a number of 49 or lower denotes an XE-R lobe or other aggressive lobe (Beast and 99 Black Bird T/A)
