Default need help with tb cable/gas peddle

well after doing the bump stop mod to get the tb blade to open to 90 i found out that when pressing the pedal to the floor it was nowhere near the stop(around 3/8 of an inch away).so i adjusted the cable(there was some slack)but still no luck.when i looked under the gas peddle itself there is a plastic stop that the rod hits against.does anyone know why it's there or if it would hurt to get rid of it.i can't think of any other way to make up the rest of the travel needed to get the stop to hit.fwiw it is the stock throttle body.thanks for any help

Is the plastic stop what is limiting your movement? Have you scooted the floor mat back?

You did not happen to swap throttle bodies with a later model did you? Or swap the cams? The newer ones are larger.
