just ordered a 4000 stall... im i going to regret this?
well... i just got a really good deal on a fuddle 4000 str 2.5 stall brand new in the box for 350.00 shipped. my tranny is fully rebuilt and is guarenteed to handle abuse. just wondering if im goign to regret getting such a high stall... need your insights on this 4000 stall converter, thanks. plus, i have a buddy with HP tuners, can he make it to where the transmission will handle it? thanks

I run a 4400 Fuddle with 2.5str with a stock cam (for now), LT headers with an ORY and an open exhaust cutout. I have ZERO regrets.
It took me a week to get used to it but now I wouldn't have it any other way. It flat out flies. If you get some sticky tires, I run M/T ET Streets, you will launch like a sling shot. I would install the biggest tranny cooler you can find and possibly a shift kit. After the install, get a tranny flush. You should be fine.
What cam are you going to run with it?

i placed the order for my 4000 stall and the next day i was uneasy about it. i guess i felt the same way you do. then it came in and sat around for about a week with me being nervous the whole time but then i got it in and tuned, and fell in love. especially after the cam. you wont have any regrets.

I had a 4000 Fuddle and loved it. I sold it to Chris McDaniel on here, and he was loving it until he broke his block (not trans related). I currently run a 4000 in an A3, its a little looser than the Fuddle was, so I need to swap it out. GL

I got a smaller 3600 with plans to spray the car in the future, but now im thinking I may not. I wish I would have gone bigger, but luckily I get a free restall so I may get that done when I decide on a new cam.

I started with a TCI 3500,then a TCI 3800,,then too a YANK SS4000.All 3 have been great verters, the first 2 being the best DD verters ,the YANK though is simply badass at the track and even blows off my mt radials on the street. You will be glad you went big the first time.

Don't worry, it will be a shock at first how loose it feels. After a couple of times driving it you will get the feel of it and adjust to it. I may be wrong but I would think that the gears would be a good thing because it should make the converter feel a little tighter on the street (3.73). However your traction on street tires will be gone. I am still running the 3.23's (soon to be 3.73's) and traction is a problem now. Overall I think you will be happy with it especially if you get it to the track with sticky tires
