affect of nitrous shot on FI Vs. NA.
I have seen alot of people say that you can double the shot of nitrous on a forced induction car? This sounds like an wise tale to me, what experiences are you guys having with nitrous and FI? I installed a 5177 kit with my ATI, plan on a 50 shot on a window switch to help with the low end numbers. I dont have any dyno runs with the nitrous yet, just bought a home and the car is on hold for now.

i think on a 50shot you will be fine. i have never heard of being able 2 spray double but i do know alot of s10 guys run 6 or 7psi + a 100shot but totally different motor and numbers. although i would think a 50shot would be absolutly fine.

I think you mean that if you spray it 50 on a FI car you wll see 100..... I dont know if its that much of a difference. But I have seen more power to the ground on the same "shot" on a FI car than a NA car. But not doubble. Maybe on a non intercooled blower set up thats running really hot..... but I still doubt it...

the sudden drop of intake tempature from the nitrous is what gives you the extra power. . when people say you can make double the power of the nitrous shot. i think its just a mith. i have never seen it done.

I have read and heard several people say a 50 shot would make closer to 100 on a FI car. I would think it would make a little more power over the same shot on an NA car but not double? I think you would see the same results by testing a 50 shot on a 346 Vs. a 427. I would think the 427 would show a little more power gain over the 346 from the same shot of nitrous, If that makes any sense.

Well remember that anything in an FI car is the Base (what an FI car would do) + %for FI (ie: 40% for a STS 67 running 9lbs). So that is where that comes from. Many FI guys with big turbos run FI to help them spool faster. I am considering a 100 shot on a window switch to get me to 12lbs of boost faaaaasssst.

Haven't sprayed mine yet either *hopefully soon*, but another local guy Ed Blown Vert has these numbers :
526.1 RWHP - 521.4 RWTQ - 10#
666.0 RWHP - 734.2 RWTQ - 125 Shot
That's ~140rwhp and 213rwtq from a 125 shot.
...so not quite double, but you get the idea. You're basically cramming a much higher concentration of the (colder) nitrous mixture into the cylinder than you would be in an NA application.

first figure out if you need it, dont just repeat popular myths because it sounds cool.
yes, supras with 88mm+ turbos could use some spray assistance under 5000rpm, but that's because their airflow builds from rpms, not from displacement. on a large displacement, well flowing v8, spoolup is almost effortless, unless you really mismatched the turbo sizeing (which a lot of people/companies do, i don't know why it's not that hard)
