Need Cage Install Advice
Ok, I just acquired a Kirks 6 point rollcage for a 93-97 Fbody, I'm throwing it in my 97 *same interior as 98-02*. Right now, the rear piece and both the drivers and passenger side pieces are in, but not connected, it's been a HUGE PITA. Basically, every time I try to line up the bars, well..they don't, line up that is. It's a bolt in type, should I cut the carpet and try to line it up, or get it all situated and then cut the carpet, do I drill right into the chassis?

Remove the carpet, install bars (drilling through the floor/chassis), then re-install the carpet/interior (cutting as needed).
That stuff is meant to be mounted directly to the sheet-metal, so the thickness of your carpet is throwing you off and not allowing everything to line up properly.
