I just can't believe that the Z06 did so poorly in the second race against the Camaro...A 150 shot on a STOCK C6 Z06 will get over 700 rwhp (seen it) and in a 3000 lb car, one would think it would be pretty hard to handle on a kick!

That's an old vid. I believe the C6Z pulled so hard the first time because his car didn't pull timming like it did on the second run. Also, I heard the owner of the C6Z blew a pistion or two because the car was un-tuned. That's just what I heard a while back.

Stock C6Z06's put down 440-460 rwhp. I thought LG put down over 600 with heads, cam, headers and tuning on the LS7. Add a 150 shot to that and have fun keeping the rearend together...

yea, stock they put down around 460-470hp to the wheels. so something might have been done to the vehicle, or it was a bigger shot. i could be wrong though.

700rwhp = ~770-800bhp

C6 Z06 = 512bhp, so that 150 shot some how added 300bhp :lol:

Yea, old vid that was posted in the lounge a while back.

The 06's ECU pulled timing or something and I believe he ended up breaking something. You all saw what happend the first run when it sorta halfway worked.


A bolt'd, juiced, and TUNED 06 would ass rape TERMIN8R's car so bad it wouldn't be funny.

I can see a '150 shot' making more than 150 with an LS7. That high compression means the ecu is ready to pull timing with detonation. If you get a nice tuned nitrous run, the cold intake temps might allow the ECU to runn more timing, which is a big big help in a decently high rpm, high compression NA motor.

I dunno about 700 at the wheels, but with bolt-ons in addition to the shot I wouldnt doubt it.

the z06 had LTs and a tune and a professional(sp) shop installed the NAWZ lol. and he hit the revlimiter in the second race popping a piston..and terminator said that his spray wasnt working right in the first race..im sure he will chime in on the race..but a moded z06 with a tune puts down 475+150 srpay 625 with 3100 lbs = nasty

I believe the ZO melted a piston, and TRMIN8R's spark plugs took a beating, but that was the worst of the damage on his car. I cant believe he's still on the stock bottom end.

I beileve they would have a good race if both cars would have ran right.

This is just what I've heard from close friends in Albuquerque...... The Z06 just had the NO2 installed and somehow it was setup wrong to where all the nitrous was heading down 1 or 2 cylinders only. By the second race the damage had already been done and at least 1 piston was eventually destroyed. The camera car was an SRT-4. I'm shooting from the hip here going by memory, but I think this is the closest version so far. Hopefully termin8r will chime in. -Dave

You really need to read what you write SDB, YOU said that a STOCK C6 Z06 with nitrous would put down 700 rwhp. THEN you proceed to give an example of a NON-STOCK C6 Z06 with heads and cam that did 700 rwhp with nitrous. Two very different animals there......

That car is an SRT-4 with ~500hp I believe. I haven't read up on it in awhile. It's an old video.

the Z06 was damaged...HPE is doing a nasty buildup of a C6Z06 now....rods, pistons, head work, direct port on the LS7 manifold, plus a plate nitrous kit as well, long tubes, clutch, tuning....was over 700 rwhp before, should be around 900 now. That thing will be nasty on a kick. I guess he is getting ready to race a Supra on the highway. I imagine two bottles, a direct port and a plate, long tubes, big cam, beefer rods and pistons, and some headwork should make that car fairly good on a 100 mph kick!
