Default Good lasik place on north side of Houston?

Anyone on the north side gotten lasik? I'm thinking about going to do it, but I'd like someone to recommend a place... not a super expensive place, but not a piece of crap either. How much did it cost you? I know it's more expensive if you have astigmatism, which I do... isn't it?

Any info appreciated!

Do heavy research before you let a doctor mess with your eyes.

I had mine done at Berkeley Laser Center in the woodlands. A year later I still have 20/10 vision.

A friend of mine had it doen at TLC (The Laser Center). I took him to get it done and drove him home, so I had a pretty good idea of what he went through. I belive he paid 2500ish. He is happy with the results and has had no problems since the surgery. My mother, on the other hand, went to a different place, and she has had 4 surgeries, and still needs glasses. I think she spent 4-5k on the eye surgeries. No, she was not happy.

Techniques are getting better and better. Don't limit yourself to a certain side of town. It isn't like going out to dinner .

Good luck. Its a risky procedure, IMO.

I spent about 4500 after everything was said and done. Full deal customvue wavefront yadda yadda intralase procedure, all the pre-op and post-op examinations/workups (went 3 times prior to surgery, and then had 5-6 more checkups in the 6mos after the surgery that was included in), and all the prescription/non-prescription eyedrops.

I also had a slight astigmatism in one eye, it didn't effect the price of my procedure.
