Default Cooling issues?? help...

Recently had my motor rebuilt, one cylinder re-sleeved.. added heads, cam, fast 90/90, new wp,160deg stat..

Car runs hot.. 240-260 with AC in the 100deg heat stop/go traffic..

runs cool in the mornings,no ac,traffic or not..

everything is new except my radiator.. which has 215K on it...

My question is.. Does the radiator lose the ability to cool after 6 years & the mileage... I am at a loss....???

"IF" say, it were a head gasket or the sleeve not sealing would it not run HOT regardless of the temp outside or if the AC were running?

Oil is clear...resevoir and cap are as well...???

I am lost....?

Was the car tuned for a 160 degree thermostat?

Yes... i am changing the radiator tomorrow...
did a pressure test today.. Pressure held...
Xing my fingers...
I know there is alot of sentimate coming from the radiator... Kind of like an old heating elemnt from a water heater.

What radiator did you get? I'm having the same problem after my head swap (11.0:1 CR, 62.5cc)... about 245°F temperatures in stop and go traffic. I'm having crazy KR too. I turned the heat on full blast for a 10° relief, but I don't want to be over 200°F. Would the LT1 radiator help me? I read somewhere they have a larger capacity. btw, I'm still running the stock thermostat. What would be best to use? 160? 180?

Thanks in advance!
