Question 89'Firebirds

Hello!!
I’m looking forward to buy a new car – and more specifically a PONTIAC FIREBIRD.
There are three models that caught my eye.
Pontiac Firebird 3.2 V6
Pontiac Firebird 3.0 V6
Pontiac Firebird 2.8 V6
They all look the same except for colors. BUT! They say that these 3 Firebirds have all 100hp(136p.s.)
How true is this?
And can anyone please tell me what the average MPG for these engines is.

The only V6 available should have been the OHV 2.8 Liter V-6.

173 CID.

135 Horsepower@4900 RPM

160 ft/lbs@3900

MPG should be somewhere around 21-23 MPG with a 4 speed automatic. Not sure about the breakdown for city/highway.

That was the only V6, unless you count that "other" V-6 in 1989. TTA Baby!!!

IIRC there was also the 3.1 (191ci I think?) But that may have been in '91 or '92... though a swap would have been very easy.

the 3.1 would have started in 1990. It would be nice if you ran across someone who had totally lost their mind and decided to sell their 89 3.8 white Firebird with camel interior for the price of a used 89 V6 Firebird!

ugh! no... i hate these small cars. i want something bigger. i currently have a PROBE and i feel it small. but!! mpg here is very important due to the ill gas-prices
and i'm in love with the design of the 89' firebird.
anyway here are the offers:
Dark Red
Red
and maybe my favorite
The Black one
what do you suggest

oh! and small correctuion: i ment 136 HorsePower (100Kw)

Nice choice in car, but that 2.8 is a dog in the performance deparment. I'm not sure of gas mileage but I'm sure its low 20s. The base 89 firebird (I believe) was also available with a TBI 305 that gets decent gas mileage (hence my camaro in the sig). My friend has an 86 bird he's fixing up and you won't regret getting one. V6 or V8, if it's running good, your set.

'89 was a good 3rd Gen year and style.

Once you get it, drop in subframe connectors and a strut-tower brace, then start planning a twin turbo upgrade.

After that, upgrade the suspension, wheels 'n tires, and brakes, and you'll have a bad *** ride with a great CoG.
