Is the stock GM rocker arm stand necessary?...
Guys,
Are any rebuild guys out there keeping the stock GM rocker arm stands under the rocker studs? I've got ARP rocker studs and was just wondering if they are necessary....

I think we're talking ablout the same thing. SCRoggin Dicky and Lingenfelter call it a Rocker Arm Stand....it goes between the head and the rocker stud, provides a base for the rocker arms..(it's one piece)...

as was said above if you keep the stock rockers then yes you need to keep it or get a better version. the rocker stand is what keeps the rocker aligned, without it the rocker could turn to the side and slide off the valve
