Default 4l60 trouble

its a stock 4l60 with a 3600 stall, the tranny has about 104,000 on it, first and second gear hit hard but when it tries to go into third it bounces off of the rev limiter until i let off and then get back on it. im thinking maybe shift points or clutches are goin bad. any opinions. if so who would you recomend to rebuild it. i am running 4.10s and 150 shot so need something that can hold it without emptying the bank account, the way i see it is if the tranny has held up for 104,000 and 50,000 on nitrous and its still running fairly well, why not put another stock rebuild in it?

I think cpt is in your area and they claim to build 4l60s that can handle 10s all day.

yeah in my past experiences it sounds like your clutches are goin out.i did the same thing on mine and jus kept putting stock rebuilds back in every time it went. best thing to do is splurge for some decent cluthes so it wont happen again....well atleast not for a while

3-4 clutches are trashed common with 4l60e make sure to pay for the 3-4 hd clutch pack kit when they build it 9 clutches instead of 6
