Default how bad is this...no o2 sensor

replaced my cats the other day, couldnt get the driver side rear 02 sensor off the cat so i said screw (it completely rusted in) gotta wait till the weekend so i can get a new sensor, how bad is it in the mean time to be driving my car around with a missing sensor? also what about just getting o2 sims instead?

I'd have to disagree to your entire post. I've had sims on my car for a WHILE now. Everytime the check engine light comes on I scan it, and it's the front o2 sensors getting lazy not the rears. People just misinterpret this as the rears failing since they think the fronts are fine.

Also, the car will run 110% the same way if you unplugged the rear o2's rather than leave them in. The only difference is your check engine light will come on. They have nothing to do with engine / fuel management. Their only purpose is to detect bad cats for OBD II plugin inspections.

Rear O2's have no effect on tuning. Your assertion is totally incorrect.

I had the understanding rear o2's were just for cat efficiency...

YES..all the rears do is tell the computer if your cats are in proper working order..If they are clogged or anything else is wrong with them, you get the SES Light. The rears DO NOT affect the way the engine operates AT ALL.
