Zane what one are you using? i believe i've seen one of your shots on the Autopia-carcare.com site. I have used both and currently the 7424 @ work...7336 was the old one which worked well also...but i prefer the 7424
It could be that the 7336 was old and constantly in use that made it feel different or perform with less quality?

I have not seen the Porter Cable unit at any local stores (Home Depot, Lowes, Sears, Advanced Auto, Pep Boys, Autozone, etc.) I purchased mine online at the Autotopia site that was previously mentioned but Eastwood has the same thing and they're a sponsor as Nine ball stated (they weren't a sponsor when I ordered).
The 7424 is considered the industry standard car polisher and features random orbit (dual action) for a swirl free finish. It's powerful but will not scratch or burn a clear coat paint finish.
The 7335 (5") and 7336 (6") are touted as Random Orbit Sanders, but are identical to the 7424 mechanically - they are just outfitted differently as far as the attachments go. You would need to buy the appropriate counterweights for the pads you plan on using (if you buy the 7335 (5") and want to use a 6" pad, you would need to get the counterweight for the 6" pads and with the 7336 (6") you would need to get the 5" counterweight if you plan on using 5" pads) - might as well just go with the 7424 as you will get the correct counterwieght for both 5" and 6" pads from the start.
