Default Difference in horsepower and/or fuel efficiency with different octane rating gas

I was wondering how much horsepower I would loose if I put 87 octane instead of 93? And how bad it is for the engine in the long run. Would I get more mpg as well? or less? Thanks in advance. Great website btw, I learned a lot.

Probably about 15hp less and I would say mileage would be about the same maybe a little less. Stay with 91+ octane in your ls1, your car will thank you in the long run.

No joke. LS1's are set up from the factory to run on premium gas. Run crap gas too long and you'll start having some problems.
