Default a4 shifer info

Does anyone know if the A4 shifter assembly from a 95 camaro will bolt up in a 98+ car? Is the automatic shifter assembly the same for a v6 and an ls1 car?

I need to know if an a4 shifter from a 96 v6 car will work in a 01 car.

Thanks

not sure, but if you need one I have one sitting at my parent's house in IL, maybe they can box it up and ship it? I think I have a picture of it, it's not a good one but I have one. What is wrong with yours?

edit: Forgot to tell ya it came off my 98 Z28.

I'm in the process of having a M6 to th400 conversion done, and the base of an a4 shifter makes for a really good mounthing plate for a hurst quarterstick. I have one from a junkyard I got out of a 96 v6 car, I think it will work, just trying to see if the floorboard in that area forma 96 v6 car and a 01 transam are the same, i suspect they are after seeing bothn, but I'm not 100% sure.

ah I get it, even if they aren't pretty sure you can rig it up to work. Put some spacers in or form another piece to bolt down, don't see why it wouldn't work though the cars aren't that different

After seeing boththe piece that I have and another 98+ car apart in that area, I think the one I have should probably work out fine. Will know soon enough!

The auto shifter assembly from 1993-2002 is the same piece, regardless if it was V6 or V8.
