Default my cousins firebird

he is having some problems. we put a mild carb in it and a 4 barrel on his stock pontiac 350 in his 76 firebird. but it has no acceleration. untill you you hit about 35+ and mash the pedal. but if you mash the pedal befor that it bogs and seems like it wants to shut off.
this is on a generic rebuild quadrajet.

and help is apreciated and pictures would help us out.

i assume you mean you put a mild cam in it. check your timing and make sure you didnt put the cam in wrong. you also may wanna pull that carb apart and check to see that there isnt something blocking one of your primary jets.

I agree check the timing, both at the cam and at the distributor, An easy way to check the timing at the cam, is pull off the spark plug on 1 piston and the valve cover and check to see if the motion of the pushrods coincide with the piston movement. if not you are going to have to take everything off again and reinstall that bad boy.

the brake booster really helped but now the tune is off and we think the carb is wierd. the secondaries still dont come on at the right time.
