Default 402 Stroker Clearance Problem

Hey guys I just got done with my buildup. It is an Iron block 6.0 Eagle 4340 stroker crank with Eagle rods with L19 rod bolts used factory LS1 pan off my car. Everything looked good in clearance. Just didn't think to check the pan clearance. Well when I turned it over tonight finally made funny sound. #1 rod hit the pan and knocked a hole in it. WTF. what is the problem here? I am planning on taking pan off soon But what do you guys think the problem is? The windage tray is clearanced.

Thumbs up

You have to check everything. Only some are that close on the pan in front. Since it's aluminum you can probably have it welded back up.

I've had to clearance the pan for #1 rod twice on F-body oil pans. On a c-5 I have not so far.

I had to clearence the oil pan every so slightly but you should be able to weld it back and everything should be ok.

My motor uses an Eagle crank, Eagle rods, L19 rod bolts. I had to clearance a channel in the oil pan to clear the bolt head.

Chalk it up as a lesson learned.
