Front Pump Seal Install Alright, The new converter is going in tomorrow night and I decided to buy a new front pump seal just for assurance.
What is the best way to remove and install the new one?

Alright.. Still havent gotten the seal out yet and its looking bad now.. ;-( Anyways I dont have a puller which would have made my job a whole hell of a lot easier but any other ideas on how to remove the seal without specialty tools?

Good idea to replace it. I have a rule to r&r the front pump seal on any tranny anytime I can see it, cheap insurance. Same goes for the pilot bearing on manual cars. Make sure and put atf on the converter neck b4 reinstall so it doesn't burn up at startup.

Alright I got the seal out, but the puller was a POS.. haha. Ended up using a chisel to rip the seal in half and pull it out. Dont think I damaged anything. Hopefully not anyways! Yeah put the new seal in because everybody told me too and I gave in. I mean it only has 2,000 miles on it! But When I did pull it off I did notice that the heat from the converter melted the paint on the seal to the housing so I guess it doesnt take much for these things to go bad.
And believe me! This thing is getting lubed up before install!!
