What is the happy medium between timing and boost?
OK, want to toss some theories around. Let's take my car, stock 10:1 compression, TTi T76 turbo setup, no meth. Currently I am running 7 psi, with spark timing under boost set at 14-19 degrees.
Now, is there power to be gained by decreasing timing to allow more boost, and where is the happy midpoint. In other words, where is the most power to be had: moderate boost with higher advance, or higher boost with lower advance?
I am really looking for something quantitative, so if somebody has done some dyno/track runs experimenting I would very much like to see it.
Also, right now I have no interest in running methanol, I want to get what I can out of the car as is before going to a meth setup.
