I have a RCI tranny blanket around my stock tranny but I was curious to see if anyone has had their flywheel/clutch fail and it blew through the blanket. Unfortunately there is no SFI bellhousing yet for my tranny or else I'd get one. After hearing about a buddy of mine w/ a FRC vette have the clutch go through the dash I'm starting to get gun shy coming out over 6800rpms. Thanks for any input. Thanks. -Mark

Make sure that blanket is strapped down tight and you should be ok... You have metal where that vette only had fiberglass and plastic.

Thanks Fire67. It's bolted to the block and I got the straps as tight as I could get them. But since it's an odd shape I can get the 1st strap nearest to the block good and tight then the others are semi tight. -Mark

so are you running trans blankets or Bellhousing blankets?

It's actually a tranny blanket that I wrapped around the bellhousing. I didn't know they made bellhousing blankets. D'oh. Well, I learn something new everyday.

GTA- yes that's the model #. It's a universal blanket. -Mark
