Default oil pump gone bad.. what to do?

why is the ls1 oil pump soposedly bad? or whats different from it then a ls6 pump? i just got a ported ls6 but its damaged, so im not sure what to do now, called the sponser/vendor and sent pics to them but havent gotten a response yet. should i just send it back and use the ls1 pump i had 40 psi at idle when running rp oil.

depends on how much preassure you want. I would think 40psi hot is fine, just depends how much you want at 6k rpm

I have a 2000 stock internal LS1 with 116,000 miles. I get 70 psi oil pressure @ 6k.

yeah but i heard of a durability issue is that with the motor or the pump, i get 60+ psi almost soon as i hit the gas. never really looked at 6k rpms
