Default Lifter Trays

Is it absolutely necessary to replace the plastic lifter trays with a rebuilt motor? I realize they're cheap, but I dont want to purchase them if I dont need them. So what's everyones opinion?

Not neccessary, but can't hurt. One thing to consider; on high mileage motors the part that holds the lifter in place will loosen up and not hold the lifter in place when doing a cam swap. A new tray will hold them no problem. A small detail, but something to consider.

I reused mine as well but they only had 35k on them. For a couple bucks i think its not a bad idea unless your in that big of a hurry.

replace them always! I had a lifter twist because of a poor fitting one, took out the cam and the motor
