Default Regulator referencing?

When installing billet fuel rails, adjustable fp reg (aeromotive a1000), and a high flow pump, Do you need to reference fp reg to manifold pres/vac?
The stock non adjustable reg has no reference point.
I know for boosted aplications it must be referenced for the 1:1 increase but what about NA?

TIA

Default

Don't need it for na. I don't use the vac for boost...I just reference a boost only port.
