Default question about fuel pressure on my DD

I have a '93 Ford Probe GT for my DD and it feels sick above say 4500 rpms. I used to have the same car back in college and it pulled up to redline (7K). Anyways, I put a mechanical fuel pressure gauge in 2 spots: one after the filter before it reaches the fuel rails and then I moved it to the crossover line going from the rear fuel rail to the front rail. Anyways, I read about 30-32 psi at idle which stays there up to around 4000 rpms and when at WOT above that it steadily drops to about 22 psi. There is a fuel pressure regulator on the rail right before the fuel returns to the tank. I tried the Ford Probe message boards but the level of knowledge there is lacking I'm trying to determine if the power drop is fuel related. The pump has 140K miles on it if it's the stock one and the filter is brand new. I can try an AFPR and dial it up to see if that helps otherwise I'm thinking new pump. Can you guys help me out?
TIA

you could put a wideband on it and see if your AFR is dropping up top.
