i am using a stock '98 Z 28 power steering pump and ls1 in my '67 elcamino. It has the stock ('67) style steering gear in it. I have not driven the car much, but it builds up pressure in the p/s pump resivoir when the engine runs. I wondered if anyone else is using this set up, and if I need to change something inside the pump? I also rebuild the steering gear before I ran this combo, and it has a leak at the adjustment nut on top of the cover. I have never seen a gear leak there before, and was hoping someone could suggest anything that would help.

I am using the stock pump on my 5.3l Gen III with a sag box. There is definitely more pressure than the old stock box, steering is noticably easier. I haven't driven it enough to be absolutely certain, but I have had no pressure issues in the res...

Same as Pete. I am using the LS1 pump with a 68 Nova steering box and no issues or leaks at all. Seems to work just fine
