Default School me about heads!

Ok, I've been doing alot of searching around on here. I need some what of a break down on heads and which company to with. I been checkin out LE2/3 packages and I've check out Portpros, and AI. What about trickflow and AFR's. I need a good set of heads to feed my 383. Right now I have stock casting ported heads which only flow 260. I want something that gonna get me into the 11's on motor. What do you guys think. Im sorta on the fence between LE and portpros. Right now I have the cc306 cam.

in my opinion if u want to be in the 11's go with a set of heads that will give u over 300 CFM at .600 like AFR, and or Cannifeld. which ofcourse will cost some dough but u wont be disappointed in your results. Scrap that cam and go with a custom grind cam along with a good ported intake and good dyno tune. Just my o2.............

You will be fine with ported stockers on your 383...I run a set of ported stockers with 2.00/1.56 valves ported originally by LPE in 1995 and re-ported by E.B. Porting (Joe Overton's head porter) in 2005 and a matched small 226/234 Joe Overton/Erson cam and went the times in my sig...My heads don't flow much more than 260, but the flow numbers alone don't tell the whole story...

My car is no race car by any means and I drive it everywhere getting 20 mpg on the highway, and there's more in it with more suspension work...Race weight is around 3600 lbs...

LE packages are very popular here as well as Ai and Port Pros...I had great success with E.B. Porting (Eric Bradby) and would use them again...Times, mph, mpg, and drivability speak for themselves...

TEA seems alittle expensive but I love the flow #'s they have posted. I can't make up my mind, All I kno is, I want 11's and right now I'm low 12's and I dont have unlimited funds. I'd like to go with a H/C package instead of just sticking heads on my motor with the current cam I'm running.

I just talked to Lloyd Elliot him self on the phone and I very intrested in his LE2 or 3 package, I also called Bryan Herter from PCMforless and asked him about the LE packages and he said every car that hes had on the dyno with the LE package make awsome power. So I asked him about putting the LE3 package on my dd 383. He says its alittle on the unstreetable side. What do you guys think. I dont want to go with the LE2 and wish I went with the LE3 or vice versa. I want something I can drive every day. Right now I have a 3200 stall and 3.73's. So now its just down to the LE2 or LE3?

What does the rest of your set up consist of? Suspension, tire, gear, A4 or M6? We may be able to get you there by tweaking what you have...

right now I have an 383 A4 with a fuddle 3200 stall 2.1str, 3.73's in the stock 10bolt, I've just added spohn LCA's, UMI LCA relocation brakets, BMR trans mounted T/A, and MT radials. My best 60ft was a 1.71 so far. The thing is I went 12.38@111.91 on stock suspension and street tires and 12.35@111.63 with the tires and suspension stuff. I want consistant 11's so I looking for more power with out spray.

Do you know what your pinion angle is set at? What size M/T radials and tire pressure used at the track? I am not a big fan of Fuddle converters as I've seen them as "hit or miss" and in some cases they are very inefficient on the top end and "eat" some mph...What injectors and who did your tune? I know this is a lot of questions, but the attention to detail is a big part of going quick and fast...

..also is your rear stock except for the gears? are you single tracking at all?,etc..

My pinion angle is set to -2 degrees and I'm running 255/60 15's Radials @ 25psi. I'm running racetronix 37lb injectors and Bryan Herter from pcmforless did a dynotune. He said that the motor was dying off up top, He said its seems like the heads arent breathing enough.
And yes the rear is the stock 10bolt with 3.73's. I'm not sure what single tracking is though LOL.

Single trackin' also known as "ONE" wheelin', are both wheel's spinning? They don't make a 255/60/15 so it must be the 16" radial on stock wheel's? i for one agree w/ the fuddle comment as a converter could make or break a combo, i recommend yank for everything! lol.. but i'm sure there are other's as well.. What's your budget?

I said that wrong, its 255/50 16. I mixed up my #'s, sorry bout that.

Just so happens that I'm planning on going with a yank 3600 or 3800 in the near future. Im not to happy with my mph and 60ft.
