Default Engine Covers for that "concept car" look..

Anyone have any idea if they make them for F-bodies? I know there's a few styles for the 'vettes but I have yet to see one made for our cars. I know spending dozens of hours polishing and painting everything to perfection could be an option, but not on my daily driver.

I would much rather spend 15 minutes cleaning that up with windex and then a mild polish than spend hours detailing the whole damn thing only to keep it looking cluttered

Im seriously considering making my own if there's none out there.

Doesn't all have to be made of stainless, I probably couldn't afford THAT much stainless anyway

Someone could but buy some ss and roll it, plasma cut it, test fit and trim, take it and get it cromed or polished. Should not be too hard just time consuming, and plasma cutters are not cheap. Take a sheet metal class at a local community college and make it in class, would cost practically nothing.

YEah, thats what I was thinking, wouldn't it just be like having two hoods?

Like "here let me open my hood and show you my engine cover, then let me take of my engine cover and show you my engine"

I think the money would be better spent on some nice engine dress up...

I like covers, it cleans up the look, but then at the same time I dont like them because you cant see everything there is to look at, and make sit more work to do nuderhood maintence. I'll probably end up getting some FRC's but those dont cover up the entire engine bay and arent to hard to take on and off

I love the word "nuderhood," just cheered up my day. Back on topic, they look awesome, but are not practical for use on a car used often and make working on the engine even more annoying. Don't get me wrong, I think they look awesome, just not practical.

A series of cleverly placed magnets would make short work of taking them on and off, I think

I dont think that Josh would like these too much lol. It would cut his business if someone made those. Personally, I dont really care for the full covers over the engine. Maybe some Chrome FRC's and the !wire mod, and i would be satisfied with the look of the engine bay.

I think it would look awesome if not the whole engine was covered.. Like maybe down the sides on top of the wells and down to cover the headlight hole. But leave that actual engine uncovered.. Then that could be dressed up and would give it a real nice clean looking engine bay IMO..

well thas kinda what the product in the picture is doing. covering up olmost the entire bay! i think it looks slick as hell. its either this or chrome polishing everything under the hood, whicj i admit would look even better...but thats just do damn expensive...
so yeah it MIGHT look like a second hood, but i like it! maybe mold it to the manifold...give it that custom look just my 2

Nope, I'm with you! I put too much detail in chrome/paint/polishing, etc. on my engine to cover it all up - I like to see the little details. If I was voting on (2) cars at a show - (1) had the engine visible and highly detailed, and the other had covers (no matter how nice they may be) that totally covered the engine - I would go with the detailed engine.

Takes a lot more time/thought to do it up right the first way + there's a lot of interesting items to look at instead of just shiny coveralls...

ooouu! ooouu! ooouu! I got it, They should take a life size picture, from directly over head of course, of a clean LS1 engine bay, print it, cut it out and use that as the cover, that should take care of keeping it clean.
