Default more cam advise....

I know this will be a somewhat rhetorical question but I scored an 01 6.0 this week and it will be going in the hole in my third gen where the "old" motor was. I'm sure the motor is an LQ4(from a 2500hd truck) so it's got the lower compression. The car has a th350, 3500 stall, 9" w/spooled 3.90's, adjustable tubular floor-pan mounted arm, etc. I'll be throwing an occasional 150 shot on it(it will be carbed with the performer RPM) also. I'm looking for a stick that will pull a hard 6,500-6,800(stock bottom end) and have reasonably decent street manners. The car will primarily be a track car but will also see a fair amount of street driving on cruise nights. I'm going to try and keep the A/C(gotta have it in Florida) so that may come into play as well. I know how an old sbc works with cam selection but this LS stuff is new science I have to get used to. Also, won't this motor have the better rod bolts in it since it's a 2001? I've even thought about making a 402 out of it.....hmmmm, the bucks keep rollin' out of the wallet..... thanks in advance.

the 055 or 056 is a good choice. if you want to get a little more aggressive, then the 079 or the 048. call and talk with joe vinci about it.
