Default Wastegate on a supercharger

I was thinking the only night and wondered why not put a wastegate with a spring set to about 7 psi for the purpose of the example and have the appropriate pulleys to make say 12 psi. so the 7 psi is reached at a lower rpm and carried through to red line instead of making peak boost near redline(pretty sure full boost is reached on a supercharger at or near redline)

i know there has to be something that im not thinking about that would make this not work.

A wastegate works off of exhaust pressure...There have been quite a few threads about this but the general sensus is that it won't work...

To make a centrifugal run like a Roots/Twin Screw... That would be nice.
