High-pitch, pulsing sound
Sometimes when I start my car, it emits a somewhat high-pitched sound that pulsates kinda fast.
I can hear it from the engine bay and it seems to be heard standing behind the car through the exhaust.
If I rev the engine, it goes away and comes back as the RPMs come down. It goes away totally after driving a short distance.
It doesn't happen all the time either, maybe 10% of my start ups.
I hope I described it well. I wish I could record it. Anyone got any ideas? It doesn't seem to throw codes or hurt the car, just alarming.

Mine made a similar sound upon start up. I thought the AIR pump was going bad until I read that the check valves could be plugged with carbon build up and not allowing the AIR pump to push air through them to the cats until they "lit off". I took the check valves off, soaked them in some carburator cleaner until all off that junk softened up enough to clean them out, reinstalled and all was fine.
