Important question (How do I Know?) How can I tell if the car I am about to purchase is a real SS.
It's got the hood,wheels,and rear spoiler.Did they offer just an apperance pkg?
I've searched the RPO codes but, wasn't exactly sure what code if any would tell me.

So the WU8 on the door is the SS.I remember hearing when the SS first came out they had more power.Are the 98 and up Z28 or SS all the same motor if so what was it rated at?

doesn't matter what they are rated at because they all basically make the same power, unless they had the optional exhaust and/or lid wiht the 345hp package. Do some research, everything you've just asked has been asked 1 billion times. A ls1 is a ls1, doesn't matter what it came in.
