Non-stop transmission issues, tried nearly everything.
K well I've been having non-stop transmission issues ever since I bought my car. I'm going to estimate 400rwhp is what I'm making and I'm ATTEMPTING to push it through a 700r4.
We rebuilt it with a HD kit, Transgo reprogramming kit, yada yada. Nothing but problems.
So it was pulled again, and the case had a slight crack in it so we figured why not put it in to a new case if it's all coming out again. Well a friend had a 4wd case so we put it all into that. Still issues and yada yada.
So here's the deal... for a couple days 1st 2nd and 3rd were working fine but I had never got it into 4th. Thought maybe it was a shiftkit issue so i got a new valvebody and put in a B&M shift improver. Drove for a couple more days and then it was just 1st and 2nd gears working and when shifted in to 3rd it would only hold pressure until about 2000 rpm then just free rev. Today only 1st gear holds strong and 2nd, 3rd, and 4th will hold pressure at very light throttle up to about 2k and then slip.
We completely went through it when we rebuilt it, all new seals, clutches, etc. I'm not sure where to even start looking for the problem now.. anybody have any ideas?

Well you could say a "pro" built it, he is ASE certified and does trannies for a living basically. If I can't get it figured out soon I'm going to take it up to a shop around here and have them go through it so if it's not working it's on their bill and not mine.
There really isn't mismatch that i know of.
4wd 700r4 case
Rebuild kit is like this:

Shift kit:

Anyone have something I should look at? It has a new case, a new pump, new shiftkit, new valvebody and spacer plate, new governor, new TB cable, as well as the rebuild.

I just called Performabuilt and talked to Frank. Got to discussing the issues with him and he said he thought it would be the stator. Not sure what stator he is talking about? My friend thought he was talking about an issue in the torque converter while I could have sworn he said something about a front pump stator? Whatever the case we put in a new front pump already and that wasn't the issue. Anyone elaborate?
I also priced a new 4l60e with 3500 stall

The stator is the stationary shaft on the front pump housing, and also slides into converter. It has sealing rings. Maybe leaking internaly. If you have a pressure gauge I would start there to see what kind of pressures you have.

Yes that is what I was thinking about when i talked to you , of course if you have replaced the pump with a "new" one that may not be your issue, but testing presures in anycase is and excelent idea though based on what you said on the phone I fear you may have allready done enough damage that it will be nessesary to go through it again , But honestly i you are the same guy who someone replaced the 4l60e with a 700r4 I would opt to just go back with the 4l60e and solve the problem in that way , Which would be the best move in my opinion

Seems like I just caught third.. If i take 1st up to ~5000 and let it it will shift and hold. Now I'm even more confused. I haven't had any time to go try if i can get in to gear other ways (idle up to it, etc) but it definatly shifted and held pressure. I'm about to take it up to a tranny shop today and just have it done
