Default headlights motor stays on to long

when i turn off my headlights the motor keeps running and makin a grinding sound after the lights are down all the way. also they come up when you just turn the parking lights on and also come up and down the you use the remote to lock and unlock the car. if you have any idea of what it come be PLEASE HELP!!!

the gear is stripped in the motor. there is a free fix, search for a write-up, but basically you take the light off the motor turn the wheel 180 degrees and hook it back up. only half of the gear gets used so the previously unused part is now being used. i had to do this earlier in the year and still works. the other options are replacing the nylon gear inside the motor or replacing the motor itself.

The free fix does work and the gear is stripped as mentioned above. Here is the link to the page that I used to do the free fix on mine. Eventually I will go for the brass gear replacement but they are pricey. http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headlightfix/
