Default Harris Speed Works

Does anyone know if their nitrous kit is a reliable kit or not? Im really looking into buying it, because at that price its really hard to pass up. I just dont want to spend 350 and screw my motor when i could spend 500 and be sure.

HSW Makes great pieces. I've bought quite a few different parts from them (never a complete nitrous kit) and their customer service is fantastic.

Give them a call and talk to one of their service reps and they'll help you figure out just what you need.

i have one of their kits, i picked up 6 tenths in the 1/8 mile with a wet kit...its all nice pieces, never had a problem with my kit, and i love the black bottle more than anything, but you will learn that a bottle warmer is a necessity!

Most definately! Even a full bottle doesn't get anywhere near 900 psi -- especially right now in the winter time.

Any "kit" is still bare bones, there are quite a few other additions that you need to be able to run the bottle on your car safely with the best outcome.

To do it right you're looking at spending $1200, not $350

Oh trust me, I know how that goes. But the piece of mind I'm picking up almost a full second on the bottle and having very little detrimental effects to my car is more than worth it.

Pieced together NX Wet Kit $400
Dynotune Warmer $60
Dynotune Digital Pressure Gauge $180
Zex TPS Sensor $60
BMN Window Switch $50
New length lines & Fittings $100
Random wiring/tools/solder/shrinkwrap $40
Dynotune $300

I would spray it. you get more for the time and money you put into it, then you can always cam it later

Spray it!!! i was seconds away from buying a nitrous kit when a friend called me and asked my if i wanted to buy his xe230/236 cam. well about a month later i spun the #4 and #7 rod bearings after the cam install. IMO its safer to spray it than to risk a cam install because there is no gaurantee that it will hold up. at least with spray you can be just a lil safer with FPSS and window switches.

anyone know if HSW released the plate kit yet, i dont remember seeing it on the site only the LS1 version? would love to have the plate rather than make holes in my intake. either that or switch out to LS1 clear lid along with the Power Ring.

You can run a barebones kit -- but you'll need a lot more goodies to have it run correctly with the best (and safest results).

Bang for the buck, and time invested -- your best route is going to be the bottle.

Right now my setup is:
860 bottle mount
zex bottle brackets
zex bottle
NX bottle heater
Zex purge.

I'm selling my zex dry box, a bag of jets, msd 3 stage retard, msd window switch, NOS bottle opener.

I'm going to go with a mini FJO and NX solinoid, need the FJO cause I don't think I am going to put even DR's to the 10 bolt and traction is already scarce with 275's and mostly just bolt ons.

So yeah if you want to be safe you will have to spend more than $350, if you want the bare minimum to be safe though its not that scary price wise.
