how to turn off the ses light
My friend had a 3600 stall converter in his car, and it set the ses light on. He had the converter in for a few months and now want to take it out and trade in the car. The problem is the ses light is still on. It has converter has only been out a few days and he hasnt been able to drive it more then 20 miles because the weather is kind of bad. What should he do to turn the ligh off, or will it just turn off eventually.
Thanks

scan it at advance autoparts or pepboys / will do it for free. tell them to pull out the code. Or just unplug the battery for 30 mins..

Know the code? Might not be on cause of the TC. Try a PCM reset and see if it comes back on:
Turn key on, don't start car
Pull PCM BATT and PCM IGN fuses in engine compartment
Wait 5-10 minutes
Turn ignition off
Replace fuses
If it illuminates immediately or after a few ignition cycles you'll need to get the code(s) read. Some codes set the MIL at first failure, some take more time.

If its a MIL code does that mean that the light will stay on until you get it deleted? I will tell him to go get the pcm scanned, after he got the converter put in it turned on the light and he got it scanned at a local autozone and they said it was some idle control code.
Also when the converter was taken out the battery was disconnected the whole time. If he pulls the fuses and that does not work, pepboys will get rid of the light for free asuming its due to the converter?
