40 psi ????
I want to buy a NEW inline fuel pump for my 98 Z...... i am running a dry shot on my LS1...MSD has one in Jegs for around 100 bucks it puts out 40 psi ..... is this enough psi .... if not, what psi should i look for in a new pump...

You need a pressure of 60psi to maintain proper rail pressure. I would suggest going with a racetronics or a full throttle drop in pump for best installation. The full throttle pump is mid $140s i believe.

I don't know how much that pump will really help the actual pressure, but pressure at the rail should be between 55-60 psi. Most fuel pumps are rated at lph or liters per hours which relates to actual volume. The fuel pressure regulator controls or regulates the pressure, not the fuel pump. The more popular EFI pump is the Walbro 255lph, but it's a replacement for the stock in tank pump. I would go with that one or the Ractronix Plug n Play kit which comes with a voltage booster to minimize voltage drop at WOT. If the voltage to the fuel pump voltage drops, it will cause the psi to drop which is obviously not a good thing (especially with nitrous).
