Default I need fuel system parts... any suggestions? (pic inside)

I am finising up my shortblock and need a fuel system. I plan on making my own tank and running a new set of fuel lines. I have a tubing bender and flaring tool and plan to make my own hard lines.

My car is a 346 aluminum block w/forged rods and pistons at about 8.6:1 CR, 317 heads, F-Body cam, upgraded valvetrane, LS6 intake. I am currently building a turbo setup. My power goal is 650+ RWHP.

Here are my questions:
1) What size fuel feed line should I use to supply fuel from the pump to the Y or T fitting?
2) What size hard lines should I use to feed the fuel rails from the T/Y fitting? I prefer stainless hard line.
3) What size hard lines should I use to return the fuel from the rails to the regulator? I prefer stainless hardline.
4) What size lines should I use to go from the regulator back to the tank?
5) What material connectors should I use? I see there is aluminum and stainless steel available. I want either a black or polished finish.
6) Will flared type fitting be able to take the high fuel pressure without leaking?
7) What kind/type of regulator will I need?

I know it's a lot of questions, thanks in advance!

I built the same configuration, except I used braided stainless teflon lined hose from Harris Speed Works.
1. -8an or 1/2 inch
2. 1/2 inch
3. 1/2 inch
4. -6an or 3/8
5. Depends on your taste. Both will work well. I'd use the same as the hardline that you choose.
6. AN
7. Here's where people try to save $50 and can have problems that are not worth $50. Buy a Weldon regulator. Costs more but is very stable.

Good luck.

BTW, use Teflon lined stainless braided hose wherever you need braided hose. The standard rubber lined hose will break down over time and you will smell gasoline.

And, I'd suggest you BE SURE to suport the rails, reg, and Y block, if you intend plumbing them with hard lines. Vibration can cause all kinds of problems, especially if you use alum tubing..

Hey, thanks for the input guys! A couple qq's...

I think all of the fittings on the fuel rails are 3/8 NPT, do I really need a 1/2" line?

I have heard aluminum fittings are pretty fragile, is this true?

Also, can I use flare fittings onall my hard line? I don't know any alternatives... I can't thread the hard line, can I?

Buy the adapter fittings in steel, or alum, from Aeroquip.
Line size depends on the FWHP target.
As for the hard line connection[s], use "B" nuts and sleeves. The sleeve supports the flare, and the nut slides over the line, and applies pressure to the sleeve to seal the flare.
Suggest you get an EARLS, or AEROQUIP catalog.. All the info is there, as to sizes, available combos, etc

Well i have the PP intake and rails, its also going in a 240sx so i might do something like this, becsuse i need a new fuel system anyway. my stock lines are junk and rusted! So a custom return style set up is what i think i am going to do.

God i am a Noob!

Awesome, thanks for the input guys. I will check all of that stuff out. I have not been able to get time away from work to spend on the car these last few weeks, however I hope to put some time in next weekend.
