if its calebrated perfect it will be a closs estimate but I never trusted those things. My friend had one and it showed his moms civic running 7's in the quarter with like 700 HP when in reality it was stock

must be an old one. mine is newer. I practice with it and when I went to the track is was right on, you have to set them up right. but I am not talking for 1/4 mile, if you set it up and turn it on while you are a driving it will show you g's in all directions, right left braking and taking off. then by pressing the arrows it will show you the max g for that dercetion.
BTW tips for 1/4 mile, if the unit is not frimly put in the car it will be way off. in my blazer one time I was watching it and when I hit second it barly moved a little and that little movement caused it to tell me I ran an 11.6. once I made it where it couldn't move then it read right agian, and one time it fell of the window and it said my friends 15 sec car ran a 9.4 or something like that. set up is key

I dont think it is dead on, sometimes it might be off by a couple of milliseconds and sometimes it will be off by 7 seconds
I wouldnt mine if I got it for free and kept as a "toy", but would never rely on one of those for a dead on measurement.
