Question Is this a burned valve, opinions needed ASAP please....

We are installing a new cam in my friends '01 WS6 username SPRAYED 01, and at the same time replacing the valve seals. We are using a compressor to keep the valves up to remove the springs. All the cylinders except #5 worked fine. #5 every time we fill it with air leaks quite badly through the throttle body and through all the rocker arm bolts for the intake rocker arms. We can't even compress the intake spring bc we can't keep any air in the cylinder to keep the valve up. This sounds like it would be a burned/sticking intake valve, right???

We haven't done a compression test today, will do it tomorrow, but in around Oct/Nov we were changing plugs and #5 plug was "melted" the electrode was totally gone, and the plug was fouled. A comp test back then showed 175-180 psi in all cylinders. The thing is that the car runs great and pulls strong as hell. Not something you would expect from a 7 cylinder car.

Stats on the car: TR224 cam, TSP 243 heads, it is a spray car, TNT F1 running NGK TR6 @.035".

Just looking for some opinions here as to what else this could possibly be, if anyone has had a sticking valve, how did it act for you? We'll do the comp test tomorrow for sure just wanted to get some thoughts.
Thanks
Mark

if it wont hold air, the valve seats may be damaged or the valve itself could be.

Im with this guy, its no reason for that valve not to hold air. If its not holding air then its not holding combustion and it maybe be time for the heads to come off the car.

Possibly a bent valve as well. You need to pull the head off.

Someone on CF in Australia just had a seat detonate. Pull the head or get a borescope in look into the cylinder. Something is not right.
