Default Texas Speed 224/224 XE Camshaft help wanted

I'm considering buying this cam, on a 112 lsa, for the choppy idle. But I'm on a budget, I like the way this cam sounds, the numbers it puts down, and it seems very streetable. I have an A4, no stall, and 2.73 rear end. My question is what kind of gas mileage am I looking at with this cam being untuned? Since I'm on a budget, I will have to run untuned for a while. Also, what kinda gas mileage after tuning??? This cam is very similar to the TR224 also. thanks guys

A stall would be a good choice...but you said you were on a budget. I think you can get that cam to idle. You might lose a little fuel ecomony, but not much. You can always get that mail order tune from TSP for 150.00. A tune is not manitory. I think you'll be alright. For todays standards, the 224 is a small cam.

Tune is mandatory, IMO no $$$ do not cam yet.

A VIG 3200 or ss3600 Yank will perform better in speed gains.

A tune is always needed with a cam.
