Default rpm setting??

getting ready to install a raptor shift light in my 02' ss and was wondering what rpm i should set the light at?? i just have basic bolt-ons i. e. lid, bellow, catback. thanks for the help.

With the stock cam 6000rpm would be a good shift point. Going higher than that wouldn't really do any good.

hi i've read 5800, cause by the time of your reaction it will be @ 6000 .??? yes/no ???

When my car was just bolt-ons, laying down 354/373, I set my raptor to 5900. I say try it at 6k and see if you can stay out of the limiter on the 1-2, cause it will be the one that you'll hit easiest if its too high. If you bump it, drop it down to 5900 and re-test. It all depends on how stout your car is, cause some will rev faster than others and need the lite to come on earlier to give you enough time. Good luck, you'll love having a shift-lite!
