SD Tune STILL poping through exhaust around 3k
Guys I'd like some input from the expereinced guys out there that may have seen the problem I am having.
My car is a H/C car and the dyno numbers and all that jazz are great. What is not great is 5-22% throttle and 60-75kpa load around 2600 to 3200 RPM.
I have some logs I can post from HPtuners later but for now I can tell you this. I've made this popping and hesitation get better with less timing in the middle area of the timing map. I've got the timing down to about 17 degree's in those areas and the problem has gotten better but not gone away.
The wideband shows the car is slightly over fueld or right at 14.6:1.
Could I have an issue with my 42lb/bosch injectors?
Do I need some sort of special settings for these injectors?
Is it not related to injectors at all in your opinion?
The popping and such goes away with MORE or LESS throttle but right there in that medium load spot it does it until I hit 3100 RPM. My tune is posted on my site but I'll post the tune and the log from today on HPTuners site in a few hours.
If anyone has seen this before and has some tips on what to look for it would be appreciated! Again only taking out timing seems to help but only so much.

I'm running TR6 plugs at a .040 gap. I'm wondering if I should run a TR7 or 8 or at least try something in that range. Maybe the plug is too hot for these heads?
Also I do NOT have a catch can. I checked and there is a good amount of oil in the INTAKE. Could my car be choking on oil? No smoke coming out and the oil level looks good no the dip stick. .

Also, ditch the PCV and run breathers for now.

My FAST intake is housing my MAP sensor in that goofy port they give you.
Was your car going 'lean' for just a split second? Closer inspection shows my car goes lean for just a second or half a second then smooths out. Weird.
Well I can try pulling the MAP sensor out and re-wrapping the MAP sensor with more teflon tape to give it a better seal.
My car has 22k on it and didn't have any problems BEFORE this. Dyno numbers are great...heh but this problem will not go away.

I took my MAP sensor out to re-tape it and it was covered in oil. My oil level is fine though. I need to get a second map, a breather or catch can, sea-foam, swap plugs and give it a shot.

Well, I found I had the throttle cracker enabled between 1-60mph. I turned that off it improved some. Any thoughts on the throttle cracker?
I pulled the MAP and cleaned it, retaped and nothing improved. I can borrow a known good map this week and give her a shot.
Could you give me the details on the sensor as to what readings you were getting?

you will see nothing abnormal on the MAP reading's. Just use a new one.
Too seal it,thread in a 3/8 pipe thread fitting with a 1/4" port.Run a short vacuum line to the sensor.
