Always free to do anything, but its definately best to use a wideband so you know what fueling is for sure.
If you are logging spark, knock etc, you can play a bit. Of course you could always use a dyno wideband.
There are methods of using the narrowbands and reading the mv to get a fair idea.
You can even tune the ve table from fuel trims.
Not everyones first choice though.

go ahead, play with the PE table. if you are N/A play with it a little. just make sure that the car will go into PE mode. usually what people do is lower the throttle percentage to allow PE mode to come in sooner and so forth.
setup your PE to come on sooner if you want , and look at the other settings and adjust them as you see fit, its really easy to guess what you need to set them to. My pe table went from a 12.5 AFR down low to a 13.4AFR up high when i was N/A
then watch your fuel trims and dial in your fuel trims. remember man, if you need me call me, just try to keep the long convo's to the weekends, not unless you are a verizon customer... as all those are free i'm pretty sure i gave you my number

Whats up ZL1! Thanks for that info, I have been playing around with the timing a little bit. Feels like it woke the car up a lot. One question why do you want the PE to come on earlier? I will be giving you a shout.

Why do you want PE when the engine isnt under load?
(eg) 6000rpm in neutral, or decelerating down hill?
IMO set MAP PE trigger to 80kpa and get PE when you need it, rather than all the time when you don't necessarily need it.
