Yank Or Precision Industries
I currently have a Vig 3200 in my 98 Z28 with H/C etc + ATI D1SC. RWHP now is right at 490.
I will be upping the boost and will be installing a forged 347 or iron block 370 this spring.
My A4 went out so will be installing a PeformaBuilt LVL 2 or 3. I don't want to chance the convertor to be contaminated so plan to get a new convertor and up the stall to 3600.
I can't decide on which to get. A multi-clutch PI or the Yank PY 3400 or 3600. I want something that will handle the additional 100 rwhp.
I have read many negative results with Yank but rarely a complaint with Precision. Precision treated me great when I sent my stall back and restalled it from 4000 down to 3200. It was way too loose. Now it drives great at 3200 but don't have a clue as to how a 600 rwhp car will drive if I stay at 3200 or bump up to 3600 (either Yank or Precision).
After the new TQ is installed I'll send the Vig 3200 back to Precision, have them clean it up and then sell.
Please don't post if you think I should go to a 4000.
BTW I have a Moser with 3.73 gears with Centerline 8X15 on MT 275/50/15 radials. Might go the taller MT drag radial after I install the forged short block. I'll drive on the street with MT 275/45/17's on ZR1's.
Any thoughts or opinions? 95 percent of time the car will be driven on the street - might go to the track 2-3 times per year. It is not a daily driver.
Speed Inc will probably be doing the shortblock install, fuel system upgrade and FMIC.

you wont go wrong with either. it's pretty much personal preference. if you wanna change stall speeds later go with the VIg. I'm very happy with the Yanks that I've had. They perform great and are tight converters. Tighter than Vigs on the street.

I'd stick with the vigi 3200 at first at least. It's a great converter for street use and should put some low 1.5 60' down at the track if not better. If it isn't performing well enough I would up the stall or try a different brand.
A converter flush is pretty cheap. <$100. Just find a local shop or send it back to PI.
